9/29 - Golden Bike Cruise, Spooky events this month, & Mines Homecoming
Good Morning, Golden! The Golden Bike Cruise commences spooky season with a zombie themed ride through Golden on Tuesday. 🧟 And if that doesn’t get you excited for this month, then check out one of the many Fall or Halloween related events around town in the Spooky Season section below.

👻 Spooky Season
It’s not all tricks and treats! Here’s a list of some of the Fall events happening this month. I will continue to add events to this list as they’re posted.
Autumn Fest 2025 at Golden History Park (10/5) - “This fifth annual Autumn Fest is a free celebration of Golden featuring hands-on activities for the whole family, including crafts, big trucks, and even farm animals.”
Golden Cemetery Tour with Barb Warden (10/11) - “Visit the graves of legendary Golden characters with storyteller Barb Warden. Tours begin and end at the Golden Cemetery. This program is popular, so get your tickets early.” Tours at 11am and 1pm.
Golden FestiFall at Parfet Park (10/18) - “Our traditional Golden Beer & Chili Cookoff is now the Golden FestiFall…the festival will include tastings from more than 25 beers and drink alternatives, food samples from several local restaurants, activities for adults and kids, plus live music and a Silent Auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.”
Harvest Haunt at the Colorado Railroad Museum (10/18) - “[Our] annual Halloween-themed steam-up event comes back to ‘haunt the rails!’ Guests are encouraged to come in costume for Trick-or-Treating!
Mines Museum Spooktacular (10/25) - “Come in your favorite costumes, enjoy STEM themed hands-on activities (and treats), win prizes, and take pictures with Ms. Colorado herself!!”
Stranger Strings Halloween Party at New Terrain Brewing (10/31)- “Foggy Mountain Spaceship [band] AND the once-annual release of our two beloved candy beers - Sour Patch Kids Sour & Almond Joy Brown. Be sure to put on your best Halloween attire for a Costume Contest w/ prizes!”
Let's Get Sheet Faced on Halloween at The Eddy (10/31) - Live DJ spinning all night, a magician, tarot readings, a costume contest with fun prizes, local vendors, and a haunted photo booth.
Golden Ghost Tours: Pick Your Poison (All Sept & Oct) - Three spirited tours to choose from!

Babe’s Tea Room Now Serving Breakfast 7:30-10am - Beginning today, Babe’s will be serving breakfast. I’d link it, but it was on a sign in their window, and I can’t find it online. 🤷♀️
Reminders:
Free Application Days to Mines - Mines is joining “Colorado Applies Month” and waiving the application fee when residents apply Oct 6-7 to either undergraduate or graduate programs.

📣 In Person Mayoral Town Hall (9/29 @ 5:30pm) - Mayor Weinberg will provide a brief update on key city initiatives and then open the floor for questions at Shelton Elementary School Library.
TUESDAY (9/30)
🚲️ LAST Golden Bicycle Cruise (9/30 @ 5:30pm) - Last cruise of the year! “Lighted Zombies” is the theme. We ride at 6:30pm!
📚️ Books and Benders at Cannonball (9/30 @ 6pm) - “Grab a beer and join fellow book lovers! This month we will be discussing The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.”
🏃 Celebrate Golden Hell Week at Mountain Toad (9/30 @ 6pm) - “Join us for a run with Golden Mountain Runners and hang out at Mountain Toad where we can celebrate each other's running.” Parfet Park to run (6:15pm), Mountain Toad to celebrate (7:15 ish). (From a Golden Hell Week email)

🎨 Be Bold. Be Free. Paint What You See! | Watercolor Class at Foothilss Art Center (10/1 @ 1pm) - “In this 5 session watercolor class, participants will capture what is seen – the scene, the object, or the person in an understandable way.” First class is 10/1.
THURSDAY (10/2)
🩸 Blood Drive at On Tap Credit Union (10/2 @ 10am-1:15pm) - “ We are looking to fill a few more spots that are still open to ensure we maximize the impact the drive makes for our community.”
🖥️ Dynamic Tech Meetup (10/2 @ 4-7pm) - “A casual networking event for Colorado's innovation ecosystem.”

🚂 Colorado Rails and Cocktails at Colorado Railroad Museum (10/3 @ 7pm) - “Relax, enjoy a beverage and travel back to a time when railroads shaped the American West.”
SATURDAY (10/4)
🧑🌾 LAST Farmer’s Market @ 8am-1pm - Located next to the Golden Library.
🏈 Mines Homecoming Game (10/4 @ 12pm) - Kickoff is at noon at Marv Kay Stadium.
SUNDAY (10/5)

🧢 Gear Swap & Sample Sale at New Terrain (10/5 @ 12-4pm) - Bring lightly used gear to sell or trade. FERAL will be on site, and the following brands will be on site selling samples: Loveland, Mountain Hardwear, MountainSmith, Saxx Underwear Co, Camelbak, Osprey, and Reef. Life music too!
☕️ Golden Death Cafe at Bean Fosters (10/5 @ 3pm) - “Enjoy deep, rich, compassionate, free and open conversations about death and dying, along with a hot cup of coffee or tea & snacks!”

🎤 Arapaho History and Culture with Fred Mosqueda (10/10 @ 6pm) - “Join Fred Mosqueda as he shares the history and culture of the Arapaho people in Colorado and surrounding area.”
🧑🎤 That Eighties Band at The Rose (10/10 @ 8pm) - “The bands plays all of your 80's faves...from Bon Jovi to Young MC and Def Leppard and Journey to The Cure.”
🏥 CPR Class at Golden Rec Center (10/11 @ 8am-1pm) - Adult and pediatric First Aid / CPR. $50 for residents.
🎤 Pitch-A-Friend at The Golden Mill (10/15 @ 6pm) - “One-of-a-kind events that celebrate friendship and real-life connection, where people pitch their awesome single friends to a crowd of fellow singles.“ I pitched my brother there last time. Was a blast! 10 out of 10 recommend.
🐳 A Whale of a Used Book Sale (10/16-10/19) - Located at the Jeffco Fairgrounds, this fundraiser supports Jefferson County Public Library initiatives, and attendees can snag some of the more than 90,000 books, media, puzzles, gifts baskets and more. Get your tickets ➡️ here.
💃 Golden Civic Foundation Gala (10/18 @ 6:30pm) - Dinner, dancing, and a live auction. Wear your dancing shoes & old prom attire! Find photos of past galas here.
🦖 5th Annual Dino Ridge Science Quiz Bowl (10/18 @ 7:30am-4pm) - “This unique academic competition showcases science knowledge at the high school level and encourages future career scientists in Colorado.” Event will be at Mines.

😺 Cat Takeover V: Taco Cat Tuesday at New Terrain (10/21 @ 5-8pm) - “Bring your travel cat in a backpack, stroller or other enclosed carrier to our celebration of travel cats! All proceeds from the [limited edition] glassware will go to the Cat Care Society who will be on-site with a pamphlet of adoptable cats that you can look through.”
