Good Morning, Golden! We made it to sweater weather, leaf-peepin’, pumpkin spice…candles (your mind went to lattes, didn’t it?!), and the sweet relief of not burning our hands on the steering wheel. Welcome to the official first day of Fall! 🍁

Congrats to all the runners at the Golden Gallop yesterday…and a special shoutout to my friend Alicia who won first place for females! 🏆 Was a beautiful day for such a fun community event.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day by Volunteering on Sept 27 - “Join Parks & Open Space in celebrating National Public Lands Day by volunteering at various locations then enjoying an after party with free food, beverages, raffle prizes, & live music. Volunteer times: 8:30 to 11 a.m., and the after party is from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bear Creek Lake Park. Register here.

A Whale of a Used Book Sale Oct 16-19 - Located at the Jeffco Fairgrounds, this fundraiser supports Jefferson County Public Library initiatives, and attendees can snag some of the more than 90,000 books, media, puzzles, gifts baskets and more. Get your tickets ➡️ here.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month - An effort to ensure every child, teen and adult in the community signs up for their own library card. Apply online ➡️ here or visit a Jefferson County Public Library location.

Free Denver Zoo Admission for Evergreen Residents through Sept 30 - “With the hope providing a place of connection and brief respite in the wake of the recent tragedy at Evergreen High School, the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance is offering free daytime admission for residents of Evergreen and the surrounding area through the end of September. Golden Hell Week starts today - Run the 5 trail routes in any order, at any time during the 5 days. Make sure to follow the routes as closely as possible. Here is the list of routes.

Free Application Days to Mines - Mines is joining “Colorado Applies Month” and waiving the application fee when residents apply Oct 6-7 to either undergraduate or graduate programs.

Applications open for 2026 Thriving Communities Grants and Arts & Culture Grants - “The City will award $150,000 in 2026 to nonprofit organizations and projects that focus on arts, culture, science, and technology.” Deadline is October 10.
