Good morning, Golden! The Goose has had a little makeover. Same bird, new feathers. I’m trying out a new look to make it easier to find what catches your eye and hopefully a little harder to miss something good.

As always, if you have feedback or a cool event to share, just hit reply.

Before you get too far, check out the two surveys at the top of the Bulletin Board. If you walk, cycle, drive, or just hang out downtown, there’s probably something in there that affects you. They’re quick and easy, so grab your coffee, procrastinate on work for a few minutes, and tell the City what you think. A little civic participation, a lot of satisfaction from checking something easy off your list. The rest of your inbox can wait. 😉

GOOSE TAKES

Two Names to Know

Have you ever met someone who lights up when they talk about what they do—like they were just made for it? Last week I met two women doing very different but equally important work in our community. After chatting with each of them, I left thinking, “More people should know about you.” So here’s a little of what I learned.

Sara Moslehi | Art in Soul Prosthetics

For Sara, her sense of purpose runs in the family.

Her dad began learning to create prosthetics in Iran after seeing people in his community who needed them. He traveled to Europe for a ten-day training course, taught himself the rest, made an huge impact in the field, and eventually passed those skills on to his daughter.

Today, Sara creates custom, lifelike prosthetics, including ears, noses, fingers, eyes, and more, through her Lakewood practice, Art in Soul Prosthetics. Her work brings together sculpture, color matching, and medical science to help people feel more comfortable and confident in their everyday lives.

Listening to her, you can feel how much she loves the art, the science, and, most of all, the people. She’s proud to carry on her dad’s legacy and create her own here in Jefferson County.

If you know of anyone needing her services, please reach out to Sara. She does her best to accommodate all income levels. Or show your support and follow her work on Instagram.

Nicole Hensel | Candidate for County Clerk & Recorder

Before we get to Nicole, a quick civics refresher. Your ballot, your license plates, and your marriage license have something in common: they all involve the County Clerk & Recorder’s office.

The office oversees elections and voter registration, vehicle titles and registrations, marriage licenses, and public records such as property deeds. It’s a role with real consequences for everyday life—and for public confidence that our elections are secure, accessible, and accurately administered.

Nicole is running for that office here in Jefferson County. A former teacher, organizer, and nonprofit leader, she has worked on voter access and election protection, including defending students’ voting rights and advocating for expanded voter registration. Her campaign emphasizes public trust and making county government accessible and effective.

You can read more about her background and priorities at Nicole for Jeffco.
