11/10 - Veteran's Day, Turkey Trots, & Holiday Events
Good morning, Golden…from Vancouver! This goose has migrated in the wrong direction for the week, trading unseasonably warm weather for gray skies, wet sidewalks, and Tim Hortons. ☕️ While I’m sipping coffee in the drizzle, here’s what’s bright and bustling back home in Golden this week.

The 12th Annual Great Turkey Chase at Parfet Park (11/27 @ 8:30am) - “The run will be timed but there are no awards. Just Good Vibes, High Fives, and Pumpkins Pies!” Course runs along Clear Creek.
Parent Run Club’s Applewood Turkey Trot (11/27 @ 10am) - “Join Parent Run Club for a FREE Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot packed with fun festivities for all!”

Ugly Sweater Decorating at Foothills Art Center (12/4 @ 5-7:30pm) - “Ugly sweater decorating is BACK! Bring your plain old sweater to the Creative Campus and turn it into the ugliest, most glorious holiday creation ever. We’ll have free supplies, drinks, and all the glitter you can handle. Space is limited, RSVP to join the fun! 21+ event!”
Miracle at The Eddy (Holiday Popup Bar) - Reservations are now open, with doors officially opening 11/25 at 4 PM. Get ready to sip from the new Miracle Mouse Mug and bask in the holiday magic, Golden-style. Because a little wonder pairs perfectly with good cheer. 🥃🐭
Golden’s Candlelight Walk 2025 (12/5 @ 6pm) - Enjoy carols, community, and holiday lights during this annual tradition.
2025 Gingerbread House Workshop at Foothills Art Center (12/6 @ 10am-12pm) - “We’ll use sturdy cardboard houses and decorate them with candy, paint, hot glue, and all kinds of fun craft supplies. Come make a colorful creation that’s good enough to ‘eat’!”

Food Drive at The Golden Community Center - The City of Golden and Hunger Free Golden are hosting a community food drive, Nov. 1–Dec. 31. Please consider donating non-perishable items. To learn more about how to support our local pantries in Golden and Jefferson County, visit HungerFreeGolden.org.
Production of Small Mouth Sounds performed at Golden High School - Support the local high school’s production and purchase tickets here. Shows are Thurs, Fri, & Sat.
What’s that rock you’ve got? - Mines Museum is holing a Mineral ID Day Nov 15 from 1-4pm. “Our experts will help you ID your rocks, minerals, gems, fossils, or meteorites (limit 3 per person).”
Attention Golden Chamber Members! - “To promote your business and any holiday deals you have, please make sure you submit your ‘Hot Deals’ ASAP! The Chamber is working with partners to distribute a QR code to shoppers on Small Business Saturday (November 29th) that will link to our Hot Deals Page.”

Only one entry per child will be accepted. The winner will be announced on Monday, December 1.”
Food for Our Neighbors with Golden Pantry & Thrift - With the Federal shutdown, no SNAP benefits will be issued, affecting 38,000 people in JeffCo—and 86% of those households have kids. Please consider donating, hosting a food drive, or shopping at the Thrift.
