Good morning, Golden! Golden’s summer calendar is booking up. We’ve got live music by the creek, a three-day celebration of all things Golden at New Terrain, and Buffalo Bill Days riding into town next weekend. Definitely mark your calendars for the Fire Department Pancake Breakfast and the Buffalo Bill Days Parade, both next Saturday.

This week, you can swap kids’ clothes, adopt a new best friend, test-ride a mountain bike, listen to a 93-year-old literary legend, or attempt yoga while baby goats climb on you. Something for everyone, as long as you’re willing to embrace the heat. 😅

🤠 Buffalo Bill Days

Parade • Live Music • Arts & Crafts • Family Fun

The annual Western celebration is returning to Golden from July 24 through July 26, with the Buffalo Bill Days Parade downtown on Saturday, July 25, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Golden will again be hosting its annual Buffalo Bill Days celebration. This event dates back to the 1940’s as a trail ride up Lookout Mountain to Buffalo Bill’s grave. The Buffalo Bill Days Committee has expanded the activities through the years and it is now the largest community festival held in Golden.”

🎨 36th Annual Golden Fine Arts Festival

“This year’s event will be held in Parfet Park in historic downtown Golden with art on display for sale, food vendors, beer and wine, and a Festival Store run by the Golden Chamber of Commerce. Close to one-hundred artists are meticulously selected by a local jury of industry professionals. Artistic categories are Two-Dimensional, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Jewelry, Ceramics, Fiber Arts, and Glass.”

When: August 15-16 @ 10am-5pm

Where: Parfet Park (new location this year!)

Golden Fire Department Pancake Breakfast on Sat, July 25 - “Always a community favorite [and a Goose favorite], this event raises funds to support the Golden Fire Foundation.” Grab your tickets at the Golden Fire Department (911 10th St); $10 plate for adults $5 a plate for children under 12.

Golden Kids Clothes Swap Drop Off This Weekend - “FREE kids clothing, books, and gear!” Donate your clothes, books, baby items, etc off at the lower parking lot of Hillside Community Church on Friday from 5-7pm. Come on Saturday from 9-11am and shop for free!

Apply to Join Golden's Historic Preservation Focus Group - “The City of Golden is seeking 8-10 community members to participate in a Historic Preservation Focus Group….The focus group will review draft Historic Preservation Architectural Guidelines, discuss potential updates to the Historic Preservation Board's powers, and evaluate potential zoning code amendment ideas and process improvements affecting Golden's historic districts and individually designated historic properties.”

Child Watch Available at Golden Community Center - (This was from the City of Golden Newsletter but the rec center website is not updated. For more information, email [email protected].) “The Golden Community Center has launched Child Watch, a program that allows parents to work out with discounted childcare for their 1 to 7-year-olds. Each session covers two hours. Resident drop-ins are $10 and non-residents are $12. Parents can also purchase punch passes to maximize savings.” Available Tuesdays (8:30am - 12:30pm, 2:30pm-4:30pm) and Wednesdays (8:30am-12:30pm)
