Good Morning, Golden! Congratulations, parents—you officially survived another summer. 😅 Here’s to getting the kids back in school and reclaiming a little sanity. JeffCo Public Schools welcome students back tomorrow. Mines students head back next Monday. Let’s get to it!

📆 Events This Week & Upcoming
⚽️ Mines Women’s Soccer
The Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer team will kick off the season with national attention—they’ve landed at No. 4 in the United Soccer Coaches’ NCAA Division II preseason rankings.
In 2024, the Orediggers powered through the regular season undefeated, claiming both the conference title and the tournament championship. Their remarkable run ended in the NCAA quarterfinals, where they lost to Cal Poly Pomona, the team that went on to win it all.
Check out their upcoming Home schedule below & get your tickets today ($10 adult; $5 children)!

🗑️ Clear Creek Cleanup
TLDR: The Clear Creek Cleanup continues through sometime in September (end date depends on foot traffic). Come out Monday mornings between 7-9am and stay 10 minutes or 2 hours…however long you can!
I finally made it to my first cleanup last Monday morning! We hauled out everything from footwear to Chipotle bags, and while the trash was disheartening, the people weren’t—17 volunteers (sometimes up to 28!) show up on Mondays just to keep our spaces beautiful. This summer alone, volunteers have logged over 700 hours, saving the city time and resources for other needs. And that stray footwear? An outfitter will be turning it into a public-awareness art installation.
Golden’s got some pretty awesome volunteers—including six who told the organizer they showed up because they read about it in The Goose! 🙌 HUGE thanks to the flock! Next time you spot volunteers on the trail, give them a friendly hello. My dad (a Monday morning regular) will especially appreciate it…though fair warning, he may talk your ear off. 😉
