Good morning, Golden! Spring break is here, and for those with kiddos, the library has some awesome programming this week. Also, a reader reached out and asked for more volunteer opportunities. 🙌 I’m beginning to put a list together, and if you know of any, please hit reply and send them my way. Thanks in advance.

Check out what’s happening at the library this week for students. Be sure to check the age limit and register for these events.
Tues - Golden's BEYOND Day Spring Break Fun with Foil Boats (3/24 @ 1-2pm) - “Will it sink or will it float? Transform a sheet of foil into a boat! Learn about buoyancy and test your scientific knowledge at this interactive Spring Break BEYOND Day. See if your creation can withstand any challenges that come its way.’
Thurs - LEAP Into Science: Mirror Maze (3/26 @ 1-2pm) - “Learning and engagement ambassadors from CU Boulder will lead us on a journey into light. They will use mirrors to direct light from a source to a target, even around a barrier, while also learning how scientists develop experiments using light to uncover hidden information.”
Thurs - Tween Scene: Snackable Masterpieces (3/26 @ 3-4pm) - “Calling all tween foodies! Turn a selection of delicious ingredients into a colorful work of charcuterie art. Whether you want to step up your snack game, make an impression at your next gathering with friends or just want to learn more about food presentation, this is a great excuse to play with your food and showcase your creativity. Food and boards will be provided.”
Fri - Teen After Hours: Hollywood Murder Mystery (3/27 @ 5:30-8:30pm) - “Teens are invited to put on their sleuthing hats to solve a Hollywood murder mystery!…Costumes are optional but registration is required. ONLY teens in 6th through 12th grade will be allowed into this program.”

Comment on TDM’s draft plan - “The City of Golden is creating a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plan and program to help people get around more easily. The TDM program will offer ideas and solutions to help reduce the number of car trips and encourage people to use other ways of getting around, including walking, biking, carpooling, and public transit.” Comments close April 1.
CARA Volleyball League – All Skill Levels Welcome - Divisions for 3rd–4th Grades, 5th–6th Grades, and 7th–8th Grades. “The season runs March 31 – May 23, with practices held at Tony Grampsas Gym on designated team days. Teams compete in Saturday tournaments at locations throughout the region.”
Adult Softball Rec League – Open to ages 18 and up and all skill levels. “Sign up as an individual or register a team with friends, coworkers, or your local business. Games are played at the Ulysses Sports Complex, featuring new amenities ready for you to enjoy.”
JeffCo Archives gets a makeover - “The Digital Collections at Jefferson County Archives has recently migrated to this new platform. Explore our ever-growing collection of digital records documenting the history of Jefferson County, its government, and its people.”
Free Radon Test Kits - Limited number available at City Hall (911 10th Street) on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also according to the City of Golden’s newsletter: “CDPHE offers a Low-Income Radon Mitigation Assistance program for homeowners, and the City of Golden recently approved a rebate to support radon mitigation systems for rental properties. More info can be found on the City's sustainability rebate page.”

Emerald Ash Borer Rebate Program - The program offers rebates for up to 50% off the cost of EAB treatment or removal of at-risk/impacted ash trees.
Golden Docked Bike Share Feasibility Study (Survey) - This study will explore whether or not a bike share program could support Golden’s sustainability and active transportation goals.
