Good morning, Golden! I don't know about you, but summer seems to fly by. Suddenly the creek is low, and I haven't even gone tubing yet.
So yesterday I spent 20 minutes searching for my tube and another 10 wrestling with my air compressor, only to discover the main valve requires a specialized pump. The tubing gods have declared I shall not traveleth the river on air.
Which is probably for the best because there's plenty to do in Golden this week.
On Saturday there’s a pancake breakfast at the fire station (my favorite thing), the Buffalo Bills Day Parade (also my favorite thing), and a free tour of the Masonic Lodge…which is almost certainly about to become my newest favorite thing.
Who doesn't enjoy a little mystery? Secret handshakes? Old traditions? Definitely no sacrifices...well probably not.
On that note, I wanted to mention you won't be hearing from me for the next two weeks. No, it has nothing to do with goose sacrifices. I'm just taking a little break. Even this goose needs a vacation.

Arts and Culture Commission Call for Public Art Submissions - “The City of Golden is seeking an artist or artist team to create an original, site-specific public artwork for the Lions Park Update Project. The selected artwork will be integrated into the park’s outdoor classroom and native garden area.” Free entry. Deadline August 9. Budget $34K.
Amended Stage 1 Drought In Effect July 19 - “Beginning July 19, Golden will implement an Amended Stage 1 Drought Order through October 31, 2026, with clearer outdoor watering rules to help protect our water supply and reduce the need for more restrictive measures.”
