Good morning, Golden! Apparently this is our sporty era. From rec center leagues to pro ultimate frisbee to World Cup watch parties, there’s a lot to look forward to this summer, including the annual Lions Park cornhole league kicking off Wednesday. Truly, the full athletic spectrum.
A big congratulations to Apex, Colorado’s pro ultimate frisbee team that plays its home games at Mines’ stadium, for their win on Saturday against Oregon Steel. Their next home game is June 13 against San Diego, and honestly? I’d go for the band alone. I could hear them playing from the river, and they were putting out banger after banger.
And speaking of global sporting events that may or may not inspire us all to suddenly have strong opinions about midfield strategy, the FIFA World Cup starts June 11. Wondering where to watch it? New Terrain’s got you covered.

🛝 Golden Rec on Your Radar
The Golden Rec Center is quietly running a small empire of fun over there…classes, camps, sports, workshops, and enough programming to make your Google Calendar break a light sweat.
To help make sure the flock doesn’t miss the good stuff, a Golden Rec Center contact (and fellow Goose reader!) reached out with a few upcoming highlights worth putting on your radar. Consider this your friendly reminder to register before the dreaded “waitlist” goblin blocks your path.
Supertots Sports - Sports programs for kids ages 2-4, varying dates during the month of June and July. Some tots will chase the soccer ball, others (like little me) will pick daisies on the field. Core memories made. 🥲
SkyHawks Sports - Week long sports camps for kids ages 4-14. Tennis, flat football, pickleball, soccer, track, and more!
Lego Camps - Week long themed Lego camps for kids ages 4-13 offered in June & July. Thirteen going on 30+ allowed…right?!
Teen Speed & Agility Clinic - 4-week summer clinic for kids ages 12-16 beginning July 21.
Baby Goat Yoga - June 27 @ 9-10 a.m. in Lions Park is the next class!
☕ New Pangea Building Tenants
Were you also wondering what was happening with the old Pangea building? Same. I got so curious that I called… and learned I was apparently third in line to rent it.
Did I have a business ready for this space? Absolutely not. Did I spend 7.382 seconds considering opening a bagel shop because one of my favorite college summer memories is running with my dad and his friends weekly at 5 a.m., starting from a bagel shop, and ending right back there with coffee and bagels? You better believe it!
Anyway, lucky for all of us, someone with an actual plan got the space. Give a warm welcome to Confluence Coffee, opening in July! ❤

🎨 FREE Makers Workshops
I announced this last week, but let’s be honest…the flock flew south for the long weekend and skipped my extra-long newsletter. I saw that open rate drop, my friends. And honestly? Fair. Who wants to read emails when there are grills to hover around and patio chairs to claim?
So, in case you missed it (and because I love a good poster) I’m sharing again that you should run, waddle, or power-walk to registration for one of these fun, FREE Golden Makers workshops before spots fill up.
