Two shows are running this month. Diva Royale opened on October 3rd and goes through November 9th. See Jeff Daniels’ laugh-out-loud comedy about three Midwest moms who share a deep obsession for Celine Dion on a girls’ night out in the Big Apple. Get your tickets ➡️ here.

🗓️ Golden Business Summit on Nov 5th
The Golden Chamber of Commerce is holding their 3rd Annual Golden Business Summit on November 5th at Mount Vernon Canyon Club, and tickets are on sale now.
Artificial Intelligence applications, coping with burnout, and financial tools are just a few of the many topics experts will discuss. MolsonCoors executive Peter J. Coors will give opening remarks and Ultra-Marathon Swimmer Sarah Thomas will deliver the closing keynote speech, “Goals, Grit, & Grace: Lessons from the Water”.
This will be a dedicated day for professional development with mid- to high-level managers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs in mind. Breakout sessions will feature marketing, sales, goal setting, financial tools, a small business resource panel, and more.
Buffet lunch is included with dedicated networking opportunities and a business expo.

👻 Spooky Season Events
Here’s a list of some of the fun events happening this month! I will continue to update this list each week.
Oct 11: Golden Cemetery Tour with Barb Warden - “Visit the graves of legendary Golden characters with storyteller Barb Warden. Tours begin and end at the Golden Cemetery. This program is popular, so get your tickets early.” Tours at 11am and 1pm.
Oct 18: Golden FestiFall at Parfet Park - “Our traditional Golden Beer & Chili Cookoff is now the Golden FestiFall…the festival will include tastings from more than 25 beers and drink alternatives, food samples from several local restaurants, activities for adults and kids, plus live music and a Silent Auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.”
Oct 18: Harvest Haunt at the Colorado Railroad Museum - “[Our] annual Halloween-themed steam-up event comes back to ‘haunt the rails!’ Guests are encouraged to come in costume for Trick-or-Treating!
Oct 25: Mines Museum Spooktacular - “Come in your favorite costumes, enjoy STEM themed hands-on activities (and treats), win prizes, and take pictures with Ms. Colorado herself!!” FREE and includes face painting, spooky exhibits, and more!
Oct 26: Howl-O-Ween at The Golden Mill - Join for a spook-tacular dog-friendly Halloween celebration. Dog costume parade and contest, live music, pup treats, adoptable dogs, and more!
Oct 29: Harry Potter Trivia Night at The Golden Mill - Calling all witches, wizards, and Muggles! Test your knowledge of the wizarding world at our Harry Potter trivia night.
Oct 30: Colorado Blues Society Halloween Blues Ball at The Rose - Costume contest and two great bands.
Oct 31: Stranger Strings Halloween Party at New Terrain Brewing - “Foggy Mountain Spaceship [band] AND the once-annual release of our two beloved candy beers - Sour Patch Kids Sour & Almond Joy Brown. Be sure to put on your best Halloween attire for a Costume Contest w/ prizes!”
Oct 31: Let's Get Sheet Faced on Halloween at The Eddy - Live DJ spinning all night, a magician, tarot readings, a costume contest with fun prizes, local vendors, and a haunted photo booth.

CrimeWatch Transitioning to the City Website - “Starting midday October 1, Golden’s CrimeWatch information will be part of the City’s main website. This means you’ll be able to find police news, crime alerts, and safety resources all in one place—right alongside other City services.”

Free Application Days to Mines This Week - Mines is joining “Colorado Applies Month” and waiving the application fee when residents apply Oct 6-7 to either undergraduate or graduate programs.

🫘 ChiliFest 2025 at Golden City Brewery (10/11 @ Noon) - “Join GCB and Chili Chefs as they compete for Best Chili in Golden and win Beer for a year! This fundraiser is to support the CAG Golden Food Pantry.”

All proceeds from the [limited edition] glassware will go to the Cat Care Society who will be on-site with a pamphlet of adoptable cats that you can look through.”
