Good morning, Golden! It’s that time of year again—fluffer butts, furballs, and friendly tail wags as far as the eye can see. 💛 Goldens are in Golden, which means downtown will be joyfully chaotic, parking will be…aspirational, and levels of serotonin will be high. Plus, the forecast will be as warm and sunny ☀ as the smiles on those furry faces.
And let’s not forget that this Sunday is the Bad Bunny Halftime Show! …I mean SuperBowl 60 (pour one out for the Broncos). If you’re planning to watch, Golden’s newest sports bar, The Low Down, is hosting a watch party worth checking out.
Let’s get to it! 🪿
In today’s issue:
🐶 Goldens in Golden
This Saturday is for the Goldens! 🐾 Though admittedly, my favorite headline to come out of last year’s event made a triumphant reappearance a few weeks ago (below ⬇).
One must, of course, wander aimlessly through Parfet Park and down Washington, petting all the good doggos. But if you’re looking for a more intentional destination (or three), here are a few events worth circling…
(P.S. Don’t forget the group photo ops under the Golden arch: 10am, 11am, & noon!)
Pawrty In The Courtyard! at Foothills Art Center (Astor House @ 7:30am-5pm) - While not free ($15 to non-members), you’ll receive entry all day! Start with “Pawfee” ☕ from Humble House, get your photo ops 📸 and do art with your dog 🎨, then end you day with “Yappy Hour” beers 🍺 from Golden City Brewery and kombucha from Kona Kombucha. 🍹 Check out A (Handrawn) Dog Show in the gallery while you’re there!
The After Pawrty at The Golden Mill (8:30am-1:30pm) - What to expect: “🍳 Morning munchies & cozy drinks, 📸 Pup treats and photo ops, and 🎟️ Raffles, patios, and good vibes".”
Mountain Toad Brewing (11am-Close) - The brewery will be hosting several vendors with items that include: coffee ☕, handcrafted pet attire 👔, dog trucker hats 🧢, biscuits 🍪, and a photographer 📸.
