Good morning, Golden! I’m sure all my Ted Lasso fans out there caught this week’s title reference, and if you didn’t, please know that “Football is Life” is best read with the joyful intensity of a man who has never once under-celebrated a goal.
And of all the weeks to embrace the Ted Lasso spirit, this one might rank Top 5 in Golden for me. We’ve got the World Cup, Movies & Music in Parfet Park, and a brand-new Midweek Farmers Market all making their debut this week. Add in Golden Startup Coffee on Wednesday, a Book Fair for Adults: The Spicening at New Terrain, an Apex home game, and the Game of Shrooms, and this week is quite simply a recipe for awesome sauce.
So much is happening, friends. I hope you find something worth showing up for! Go Team USA!!

🕵 Curious About the Curiosity Shop
From Ace Hardware’s shopping center to Ace-Hi Tavern’s next-door neighbor, the Golden Curiosity Shop has relocated! A sign on the door tells folks to “check back in a couple of weeks” for their soft opening.
But I’m too excited not to share now! If you haven’t been, this place is a tiny museum with plenty of “wait, what is that?!” moments. We’re talking moon rocks, bones, gems, fossils, taxidermy, insects, preserved specimens, and the kind of delightful oddities that make kids whisper “cooooool” and adults suddenly remember they, too, deserve a little magic/weirdness in their day.
I first heard whispers of the move while buying a gift there months ago, but the owner was keeping the exact location hush-hush (very on-brand for a curiosity shop, honestly). Now the secret is out: Golden’s wonderfully weird little treasure chest is downtown, and I am thrilled! Go support a local shop that makes Washington Ave just a little more mysterious. 🔎✨
