Good morning, Golden! This is coming to you hot off the beaches of Mexico. I was here celebrating the marriage of two fellow Golden friends, and I just want to say that I hope this newsletter accomplishes even a fraction of the warmth, generosity, and positivity these two radiate so effortlessly. 💛

🍜 Hunger Free Golden Empty Bowls Event
Join Golden’s first event Empty Bowls Golden community event on Wednesday, February 25th in the Great Hall at Calvary Church.
What: Select a handmade bowl from Foothills Art Center 🥣 to keep and fill it with your choice of soups prepared by a variety of local restaurants.
Why: All of Golden's food pantries experienced a significant increase in demand in 2025, both in numbers of visitors and in pounds of food distributed. With the reduced federal funding for SNAP benefits and eligibility requirement changes, compounded with the rising cost of living, community members need our support more than ever.

Registration is now open for Rooted Beginnings Preschool - “Formerly known as the GCC preschool program, Rooted Beginnings reflects a renewed focus on nurturing curiosity, confidence, and connection through play-based learning, outdoor exploration, and early childhood development.”
Reminders:
Golden Docked Bike Survey - “This study will explore whether or not a bike share program could support Golden’s sustainability and active transportation goals.” Takes about 5 minutes to fill out.
Apply for a City Board or Commission - “The City of Golden is now accepting applications for vacancies on several City boards, commissions, and authorities. These volunteer bodies play an important role in advising City Council and shaping policies that impact our community.” Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Apply for Director of Startup Success at the Beck Venture Center - “You will design the founder experience, build a mentor and investor network founders fight to access, and create the platform that launches hard-tech and science-driven startups at scale.” Apply by Feb 16.
